Quick tip 3 – Opening documents in Photoshop

This is part three of the Photoshop quick tip series. In this tip you will learn how to quickly open a document in Photoshop.

When you need to open a document in Photoshop you normally have to go to File > Open. This takes approximately 2 – 3 seconds depending on how faster your work and the speed of your computer. However, rather than going through the hassle of the File menu, you can quickly open a document in PS by double clicking on the grey PS background.

Yes, it’s really that simple. Double click on the grey background of the PS window, and the open dialog box will appear. Most people don’t actually know you can double click on the background to open a file, but this method can save a lot of time, especially if you use PS frequently.
