Wavy texture effect

In this tutorial you will learn how to create a wavy texture effect. You need to use the gradient tool with the radial and diamond gradient for this tutorial.

Wavy texture effect

Step 1

Open a Photoshop document with the dimensions 640 x 480.
Select two colours you want to use for the foreground and background. I have selected #fc1e1e for the foreground and #0fe5f2 for the background.


Step 2

Select the gradient tool with the radial gradient and the mode at difference. Drag the gradient on the canvas a couple of time and you show get the following patterns below:






Step 3

Change to the diamond gradient and repeat the same step above by dragging the gradient on the canvas a couple of time.




Step 4

Select Filter > Adjustment > Invert then choose Filter > Adjustment > Equalize.




Step 5

Duplicate the layer Ctrl + J and change the blending style to Liner Burn.



You should now have a wavy texture effect.
